Precision is love.
I will spend the rest of my life having that statement unfold its never-ending layers of truth to me. My spiritual teacher Thomas Huebl has spoken those words many times in my presence, and from the first time I heard them, they electrified my entire being.
You know; that zingy aliveness you get from receiving Truth with a capital T. Like a plucked string, it reverberated inside me for days the first time, and even now whenever I think of it I get a full-body response, like falling into a black hole but feeling really excited about it.
Precision is love.
Love can also be understood as the intelligent field of creation, the ground of being, the source field from which all things emerge. And you only have to look at a cell, or at anything in nature with some amount of presence to detail to be awed by the truth of that statement.
Precision: “The quality, condition, or fact of being exact and accurate.”
Precision is love because precision requires deep care and consideration. It requires contemplation, reflection, awareness, presence; these actions are some of the highest expressions of our humanity for good reason.
We live in a world that has people moving faster and faster amid more and more complexity and the only way to combat this is to slow down - right down - get quiet and reclaim our precision.
About our lives, our lifestyles, our goals and dreams, our relationships, our vision for humanity.
No time for that when you’re rushing around in the old paradigm of stay-busy-stay-distracted, being a cog in someone else’s machine, contributing to the continuation of the status quo, not rocking the boat.
In this day and age (but maybe in every day and age?!), slowing down, getting still and thinking for yourself - precisely - is the most revolutionary thing you can do.
Be precise about what you want for your life.
Be precise in how you relate.
Be precise with your words.
Be precise with your deeds.
Precision is holy.
